On the last weekend in May, the Hot Rod and Custom Auto Expo will get underway at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse. The largest show of its kind in NSW, the prestigious event is a melting pot of Sydney’s car culture, combining stunning elite level hot rods and street machines with the underground lowrider and kustom kulture communities. Custom motorcycles, dozens of car clubs, a trade show, outdoor car corral and entertainment for all ages also feature throughout the entire weekend.
“The show is truly an automotive cultural experience,” said event host Andy Minas, a lifelong enthusiast of hot rodding. “There are so many facets to this event. The detailing on today’s elite level show cars is mind-blowing, but there’s an entire subculture of traditional rods and customs which are also incredible in both their creativity and craftsmanship. Nostalgia Lane has become one of the most popular attractions of the weekend and is unique to this show, people come from all over the country to experience it.”
The weekend is an opportunity to look and learn, with live demonstrations targeted to the average enthusiast, and dozens of suppliers to the auto restoration and hot rod lifestyle industry. Lowrider bicycles, a pinstriping art collective and other live events create a visual feast for all ages.
We welcome all entrants, artists, vendors and guests to participate in the Hot Rod and Custom Auto Expo!

SYDNEY EXPO GOES MICRO!
The annual Hot Rod & Custom Auto Expo in Sydney is a hot pot of car culture, and the HRCAE crew are never afraid to spotlight different genres. Look out this year for a special corral of Microcars, courtesy of the Micro Car & Scooter Club of Australia. Microcars became popular after WWII as a demand for cheap, personal transport emerged throughout Europe and the UK. From Messerschmitts to BMWs and who knows what other independent makers, expect to be fascinated by these miniature machines!
HOT HOLDENS RALLY AT ROSEHILL
While the Holden brand might be gone, it will never be forgotten. Holdens have launched into a new level of collectability, and none more so than those upgraded by Holden Special vehicles, or HSV.
The Hot Rod & Custom Auto Expo is proud to partner with the HSV Owners Club of NSW to host the HSV Super Show, an incredible display of historic HSV and HDT vehicles. It’s a serious event, with points gained going towards the HSV club’s own 2023 Muscle Car Show Championship, so expect to see the finest restored and authentic high performance Holdens from all over the state.
More than 50 vehicles are expected to fill their own wing of the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, all included in your admission price to the Hot Rod & Custom Auto Expo!
